I originally bought the house because of the massive yard and the green space in the back. I spent many hours watching the animals in the woods from my window while working at home. When the weather is nice, nothing beats relaxing in the back yard and feeling like you're in the country instead of the middle of a city.
Raleigh has everything we need within a few miles. There are plenty of great restaurants, theaters, parks, museums, etc that our family can enjoy.
It's a family neighborhood with friendly neighbors. There is a great shopping center about a mile away, and the neighborhood is centrally located to other great destinations including several parks and green ways, malls, and restaurants of all varieties.
We usually go to Miltons, Rudinos, Sawmill Taproom, Boodinis, Peri Brothers, Outback, Margaux's, and Panera to grab a bite or drink.
For our groceries and other conveniences, we have Whole Foods, Harris Teeter, Food Lion, several fast food restaurants, coffee houses, Six Forks Station Cinema, car care, banks, vets.
The house sits on about 1/3 acre with a city green way space behind the house. The green way is not slated for trails. It's pure nature in the middle of Raleigh. There is a sense of relief and relaxation when looking out of the back windows or enjoying the back yard. There are routinely deer, foxes, rabbits, and other animals walking in the woods. There is a distinct lack of city noise which makes a perfect escape.
If you love bird/nature watching, outdoor activities, and shopping, this home is perfect for you.
