I spent 9 months looking for that perfect town-home, and found it at Westport at Twin Lakes. Martha Stewart did an amazing job with the design of the community and the homes themselves. My two favorite areas are the den (which can be converted to a 3rd bedroom by just adding a door) and the sitting area that is part of the Master Bedroom. The half-vaulted ceiling in the MB is also very unique...I believe there is only one other town-home that has that option and it was a great addition...it really opens the room up. I hate to leave but I certain the new owners will enjoy it as much as I have!
What I love about my town? Location, location, location! The town home is centrally located between Raleigh and Durham, and is just minutes from RTP & RDU. There are 4 shopping centers within 5 minutes, and soon a new Wegman's will be within walking distance! Cary has a great small-town feel, with plenty of events and green-ways.
Geographically, it is perfectly located mid-way between Raleigh & Durham and is minutes from RTP and RDU.
The development has 2 very active HOA's (a Master for the entire development, and a second for the town-homes). Both are very responsive to community concerns and schedule family friendly special events throughout the year. The pool, club house, tennis courts, volleyball and kids play area are well maintained. The have an updated website for community news.
My favorite place to eat or grab coffee or a drink is Andy's Pizza, but there are dozens of places from Fast Food to Fine Dining. A wide variety of places to eat surround the area, with more to come shortly.
We love the convenience of having Lowes, Food Lion, Publix, WalMart, and soon a brand new Wegmen's nearby. There a plenty of convenience stores as well, the newest is a Sheetz.
We love the area and look forward to the Cary Lazy Days...one in the Spring and another in the Fall. fireworks, holiday parades and celebrations. There is a whole long list of special events on the Town of Cary website.
The first thing that stood out to us about our home is that it is a Martha Stewart development, so you KNOW it is going to look good. She approved all the design elements, colors and fixtures...which is great for someone not so good at that sort of thing like me. Love the openness because of the high ceilings and vaulted ceiling in the Master bedroom really make the place feel open.
If you like the outdoors there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the area...you are minutes from Lake Crabtree, and take advantage of the Cary Greenway system.
Typically, our monthly bills look like this: Electric runs about $125, gas is $85 in winter months ($18 in summer)...but both those should go lower with the new Nest thermostats that have been installed. Water is $50, Spectrum internet is $70, but Google Fiber is now available in the area and has been getting rave reviews from residents.
We've lovingly cared for our home and the only change since it was built was replacing the hallway carpet with flooring since it is such a high traffic area.
Lastly, the pool and surrounding play area is supposed to be expanded soon ... needless to say it is THE place to be on a hot summer day!
