Prior to building this home, we lived around the corner and loved the area. Our previous home did not have much storage and the lot was less than a quarter acre. While I was home on maternity leave with our second child, this beautiful ~2/3 acre lot with lovely cedar trees went on the market. In a little over 24 hours we made a full price offer on the lot and there were already several other offers --- we knew it was a rare opportunity!

We had the house built just the way we wanted it with wooden shelves built into all the closets and the pantry, plantation shutters throughout the house, CAT5 network wiring throughout the house, window seats in the dormer windows, hardwood floors, a sick on the garage....the list goes on. This has been the perfect home and location to raise our children. There are rabbits, deer, and abundant birds to enjoy. I would not even consider selling except that my husband passed away 8 years ago when my daughters were only 6 and 9 years old and they are now teenagers - my oldest is Piedmon heading off to college in the fall! It is time to downsize, simplify, and plan to retire young while I can still travel the world and make the most of every day. However, it is certain that I will not leave this highly desirable area!

The things I love about Raleigh are its great downtown that gets better all the time, great schools, friendly people, growth and job opportunities. Close enough drive for a day trip to the beach or mountains.

We love this neighborhood because it's centrally located - convenient to anything in the triangle. Wonderful neighbors who are fun to cook out with or who will help if you need anything. Short walk to Lake Johnson pool via a path right from the neighborhood. My kids took swimming lessons there and swam on the swim team. I have always felt safe in this neighborhood. I've lived in the neighborhood since 1998 (since 2002 in this house, but just around the corner before that. I am only aware of one crime (a break in) in this neighborhood in all that time.

Downtown Raleigh has so many options for places to eat or grab coffee or drink! Plus it's convenient to Lucky 32 and many other great places in Cary.

We love this area because of moderate temperatures much of the year, not too flat and lots of woods and walking trails at Lake Johnson. The nearly 3 mile trail around the lake is beautiful and has both flat terrain and steep hills.

Food Lion is super convenient- just a couple of miles in one direction; with Harris Teeter, Trader Joe's, and Fresh Market, and Whole Foods not too far away when you want more variety. The back roads to Cary Towns Center is a short drive as is Crabtree Valley Mall. Cameron Village is very convenient as well.

We love the area and look forward to (annual events), the State Fair at the fairgrounds in October, the Nutcracker and other productions at Christmas, the Easter egg hunt at Lake Johnson, fireworks downtown on the 4th of July, live music at Lake Johnson, North Hills Mall and downtown in summer. Year round there are great plays nearby as well as exhibits at the NC Art Museum. There is always something to do nearby!

The first thing that really stood out to us was the location of the lot! It's a very large lot for inside the belt line, it's right beside Lake Johnson with the Lake visible from the house during late fall, winter, and early spring. We built our dream house here with hardwood floors, tile baths, a downstairs master bedroom, transom windows, 9 foot ceilings, lots of storage, a gas log fireplace, side entry garage with driveway turnaround, low maintenance vinyl siding, three porches (I love porches!), and large bedrooms. Plus dual zone, high efficiency heat pumps and furnaces with WiFi-enabled, programmable thermostats and a central vacuum system. We have love everything about living here.

If you love walking, jogging, biking the trails at the lake, swimming at Lake Johnson Pool, classes of every kind from arts, dancing, cooking and photography through the Raleigh City Parks and Recreation then this place is perfect for you. Its proximity to three great universities that offer degrees and continuing education programs can also be a positive reason for purchasing this home.
